Summer Camp

Ready for an Incredible Summer?

Through devoted counselors and life changing experiences, your students will be engaged in a week-long theme that will challenge them and encourage them in their walk with the Lord. This year’s theme is Motion. In a world of perpetual change and unstable relationships, we desire that our students walk away understanding that our value can only be found in Christ; that everything else is shifting and temporary. But it doesn’t stop there. We also want you to have a great time. Hit the water front. Ride the 850 foot zipline. Go rock climbing and rappelling. Relax in the coffee shop. In all that you do, we hope you come away confident as you live for Jesus Christ.

MOTION
2008 Summer Theme
Sunday — Arrival

Monday — Promotion
Learning the beauty and love in Jesus Christ’s humility in contrast to the self-indulgent world that pushes us to promote and care only about ourselves. “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.” Philippians 2:5-7

Tuesday — Commotion
Students take a step back to visualize how the world around us is moving. As people encounter war, poverty and hardship, our society is advancing toward bright lights and the “American Dream”. In the midst of all of this, our roots can and must be grounded solely in Christ. “Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil — the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.” Ephesians 2:1-2

Wednesday — Emotion
As our emotions are always fluctuating, we hope to encourage students that despite how they feel at any given moment, Jesus Christ will remain the same “yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

Thursday — Motionless
Students will be encouraged to slow down, to take pleasure in the creation around them, and meditate on the things that hold eternal significance in their life. “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Friday — Motions
Students are challenged to act, to live a life in forward motions for Jesus Christ, despite the adversity that faces them upon their return to the real world. While being rooted in the midst of the motion, they are also called into action — they are called to live for Christ, to not just go through the motions, but to really do the motions. “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
